Spanish lorry drivers on strike

Nearly two weeks ago, Spanish truck drivers began strikes due to high fuel prices in the country. The blockades have made some products harder to obtain and delayed shipments.

The walkout has now threatened to disrupt national supply chains. The Spanish government is planning to introduce measures against high energy and fuel prices. Last year, energy prices have risen as much as 70% in the country. There has also been scattered protests in France.

According to Reuters “A truck drivers strike for better working conditions has caused disruption at some supermarkets and certain industries in Spain, with dairy food producers complaining on Thursday of some supply shortages as they received less milk”. They refer to the truck drivers calling the situation “total bankruptcy”.
