Publication about ColliCare Netherlands in NoordZ

In an interview with the regional business media in the northern Netherlands NoordZ, Managing Director Josefina explained how ColliCare Logistics differentiates itself. Read the article below;

“ColliCare Logistics strengthens the supply chain with smart logistics solutions,”  explains Managing Director Josefina van den Berg. Thanks to the use and combination of different modalities, ColliCare offers its customers greater reliability, sustainability, flexibility, and ultimately lower costs.

ColliCare Logistics distinguishes itself through a smart mix of road transport, sea, air, and rail transport, providing customers with more sustainable and flexible logistics solutions. In doing so, they help their customers achieve a stronger competitive position.

ColliCare, originally a Norwegian company, has now expanded to 12 countries across Europe and Asia, including the Netherlands. “We want to further strengthen our position; that’s a great challenge,” Van den Berg notes. The company opts for a personal approach and always strives for a tailor-made solution that fits the customer. “Several customers have been connected to ColliCare for many years; we know their needs and can provide everything in the field of logistics services. Of course, that includes door-to-door transport, but also storage and transshipment, express transport, customs clearance, arranging the right documents, and so on.” According to Van den Berg, customers appreciate ColliCare’s reliability. “We keep our promises and are transparent in what we do.”

Knowledge of the local market

As mentioned, ColliCare operates in 12 countries. In each country, the logistics service provider has its own offices. “This allows us to build local knowledge and maintain our own network. That helps us find the best solution for the customer. What we hear from the market is that people value us for our reliability, flexibility, transparency, and personal approach.”

The transport sector is undergoing various changes, and ColliCare responds to these as effectively as possible. For example, by using different, or a combination of, transport modalities. “It can be more attractive to carry out long-distance transport, which normally goes by road, via sea or rail. For instance, we offer several train connections from Italy and are continuously expanding our rail capacities in Scandinavia. Or we adjust the route to take advantage of various sea connections. Our organization is flexible and can quickly switch between different modalities, ensuring we always arrive at the best, most attractive, and cost-efficient solution for the customer.”  She highlights that "by using different modalities, we can help customers achieve their sustainability goals. Because transport by rail and water results in lower CO₂ emissions compared to road transport. Wherever possible, we take kilometers off the road.”

A sustainable future with lower emissions

Electric driving can also reduce CO₂ emissions, but, as Van den Berg points out, “how things will develop with electric driving is still uncertain. For example, whether you can charge everywhere in Europe is a question that concerns many logistics providers. Similar questions exist for other alternative fuels. In short, the infrastructure needs to be ready. For now, we believe the greatest benefits will come from transport by water and rail. In terms of fuel, we focus on LNG, biodiesel, and possibly HVO, which can also significantly reduce emissions.”

"What we hear from the market is that people value us for our reliability, flexibility, transparency, and personal approach."

What is clear, however, is that as of July 1, 2026, the road tax for trucks in the Netherlands will be introduced, following earlier implementation in neighboring countries Germany and Belgium. “That will certainly impact pricing,” Van den Berg notes. “Additionally, the industry faces a growing shortage of drivers. These are reasons why we believe demand for rail and/or water transport will continue to increase. Customers will need to weigh their options, where it always comes down to speed, flexibility, and price. That’s why, at ColliCare, it’s a priority to stay close to our customers so we can provide the right solution. We adapt, and the past few years have proven that we are good at it. In fact, it’s in our DNA. We add value and are an essential part of our customers’ value chain. That’s exactly what it’s all about.”
