Back Jesse at ColliCare

Interview with Jesse Woning: "Logistics Is About People"

The role of logistics is changing. Where transport was once mainly seen as the practical movement of goods, it has become an increasingly strategic part of business operations. Especially in international supply chains, companies are experiencing how much of a difference a reliable logistics partner can make.

Jesse Woning, Sales Executive at ColliCare Logistics, has been with the company for three years and plays the link between customers and the operational teams within ColliCare. He has a clear view of the market and sees that companies are no longer just looking for a transport provider, but a true logistics partner.

Working together towards better logistics

"The thing I enjoy most about my role is the direct and personal contact with customers," Jesse explains. "Being close to the customer helps you understand what is really going on in their business." This goes far beyond simply carrying out transport assignments. "You get to know a company's challenges and work together to find solutions."

Jesse has noticed that more and more companies want to collaborate on improving and optimising their logistics processes. "We analyse the benefits of different transport modes and continuously optimise our daily linehaul network. By doing so, we aim to simplify our customers' supply chains wherever possible," Jesse says.

"At the same time, I see that customers want to maintain personal communication. If something changes in the process, a logistics provider needs to react quickly. Personal contact therefore remains important because, in the end, logistics is about people taking ownership and finding solutions when circumstances change."

Jesse also points out that many companies already have strong logistics expertise in-house. "Our added value is not only in the services we provide, but in the way we think along with our customers and support their ambitions."

"What choices do we make today to ensure logistics works even better tomorrow?"

Thanks to the personal and regular contact with customers, Jesse feels a strong sense of responsibility for the success of every shipment. Together with the operational teams, he looks for the best solution for each customer. "I always try to remain as flexible as possible. You never know what the day will bring or what questions may come up."

Delivering your promises

During the first conversations with prospective customers, he provides a realistic picture of what ColliCare can offer. "If a potential customer wants to expand into a new market, the conversation is not only about rates and transport options. We also discuss transit times, customs procedures, and the expectations of their own customers."

The personal approach is important for Jesse and ColliCare, he explains, “we work closely with our customers, which often makes it feel that we are part of their organisation. That personal approach, combined with our ability to respond quickly and focus on solutions, is something customers genuinely value in our partnership."

In addition to ColliCare's daily departures to Scandinavia, Finland, the United Kingdom, and destinations across Europe, Jesse highlights that the company's local presence and strong customer relationships are key factors behind long-term partnerships. "Ultimately, we work together with the customer and the entire international ColliCare team to ensure that goods are delivered to the agreed location on the agreed day."
