Truck toll in the Netherlands starting July 1, 2026

On July 1, 2026, a new truck toll will be introduced in the Netherlands. All trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes or more, whether Dutch or foreign, will be required to pay a fee per kilometer driven. The toll will apply to all highways, as well as selected provincial and municipal roads, and will affect vehicles classified under categories N2 and N3.

Toll rates will be calculated based on the truck’s weight and CO₂ emissions. The cleaner and lighter the vehicle, the lower the toll charges will be. With the introduction of the truck toll, the government aims to encourage sustainable freight transport solutions and to reduce CO₂ emissions

How will this impact my orders with ColliCare?

With the introduction of the new toll charges in the Netherlands, the logistics landscape is gradually shifting. For ColliCare Logistics trucks, the base toll cost is currently set at €0.201 per kilometer. We are actively monitoring the implementation of these regulations and evaluating how they may influence our operations. Once we have more clarity, we will inform our clients about the potential impact. Our aim is to ensure transparency while remaining flexible as the situation evolves.

In response to rising costs and growing environmental demands, our smart, tailored logistics solutions are designed to meet your company’s specific operational needs and business objectives. Our intermodal solutions, where we combine sea, rail, and road transport, has already proven that it is indeed possible to reduce emissions without compromising on transit times.

We are ready to expand this transition with more clients, delivering measurable benefits in both cost efficiency and environmental impact. Get in contact to discuss the benefits of our intermodal solutions.

Towards a sustainable future

As sustainability becomes a key priority in the Dutch logistics sector, we have already taken steps to support this transition. We are working toward a 55% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, while continuing to improve safety, working conditions, and responsible operations across our value chain. These efforts are part of a broader shift toward smarter, cleaner logistics. Discover our ESG pages to learn more.
